Understanding what can and cannot go in your dumpster helps you avoid unexpected charges, refused loads and potential legal issues. Review the full list below before you start loading - and call us with any questions.
These materials are fully accepted and can be loaded directly into the dumpster - no fees, no special placement. This covers the vast majority of household cleanout and renovation debris.
These materials are accepted, but each has a required placement and a fee rule. Items marked "beside the dumpster" must never be loaded inside it - set them on the ground next to the trailer so our driver can process them separately.
Mattresses go inside the dumpster with an additional fee: $10 each in Aiken County, $25 each outside Aiken County. Box springs are NOT subject to this fee and can be loaded at no extra charge.
Refrigerators, freezers, ovens, ranges, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and water heaters are accepted with special handling - place them BESIDE the dumpster, never inside. An additional fee applies; call (803) 679-8899 for pricing before loading.
Air conditioning and HVAC units are accepted with a flat $25 fee per unit. Place them BESIDE the dumpster for separate refrigerant handling - never inside it.
Place tires beside the dumpster - not inside it. We handle disposal separately. Limit applies per load.
Electronics must not be placed inside the dumpster. Electronics requiring disposal are $10 each and should be placed beside the dumpster for separate handling. This includes televisions (including large-screen TVs), computers, monitors, printers, and similar items.
Car, truck, and marine (lead-acid) batteries are accepted at no fee. Place them beside the dumpster for separate recycling - never inside it. Lithium-ion and household batteries remain prohibited (see below).
Propane cylinders - grill tanks and small camping cylinders - are accepted at no fee. Place them beside the dumpster, never inside it, so they can be handled safely. Other pressurized containers remain prohibited (see below).
Shingles are heavy. You may load shingles up to one-half of the dumpster's capacity by volume - no more. Customers remain responsible for weight overages - a half-full dumpster of shingles can easily exceed the included weight limit. When in doubt, call us.
The following materials are never accepted in our dumpsters under any circumstances. Disposal facilities legally cannot accept these items, and loading them may result in load refusal, additional fees, or legal liability.
household garbage, household trash, and regular bagged household waste of any kind. Our dumpsters are for junk, debris and renovation materials only - never everyday garbage.
contained or uncontained (water, chemicals, oils, paints, solvents, etc.)
not accepted unless completely emptied, crushed flat, and incapable of holding liquid. "Empty" or "dried out" alone does not qualify.
rock, asphalt, concrete, bricks (extreme weight / facility restrictions)
dirt, clay, fill dirt, gravel
branches are fine; stumps and whole logs are not
any asbestos-containing materials require licensed abatement disposal
antifreeze, motor oil, stains, varnish
power tools, e-bikes, laptops, phones, and similar batteries of any size (auto/marine batteries are accepted beside the dumpster - see above)
of any type or quantity
sharps, human or animal remains, clinical waste
oxygen cylinders, aerosol canisters with pressure remaining (propane cylinders are accepted beside the dumpster - see above)
pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, industrial cleaners
Follow these rules to ensure safe transport and avoid additional charges.
Debris must not extend above the side boards of the dumpster. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be legally transported and will be returned with material removed - additional charges apply.
Do not attempt to move or reposition the dumpster trailer after delivery. If you need it repositioned, call us and we'll arrange it. Moving it without authorization can damage property and void your agreement.
The dump bed mechanism is for our use only. Do not raise, lower or operate any part of the trailer. Only our drivers operate the dump mechanism.
Load heavier materials first and spread weight evenly across the dumpster floor. Uneven loading can cause transport issues and may result in materials shifting or falling during pickup.
Materials that stick out above the sides or beyond the end of the dumpster may be removed on-site or handled separately for an additional charge. Secure all loads before pickup.
The renter is legally responsible for what goes into the dumpster. Prohibited items found at the disposal facility can result in load refusal and additional costs passed back to you.
Always call us before loading questionable materials. It's much easier and less expensive to ask first than to deal with load refusals or unexpected fees after the fact. We'll give you a straight answer.

Most prohibited items are restricted at the facility level - our disposal facility legally cannot accept hazardous materials, heavy masonry, liquids and municipal solid waste. We're bound by state and county regulations and facility agreements. Loading prohibited items creates liability for you as the renter and can result in the entire load being refused, leaving us with a dumpster we can't dump and costs we have to pass back to you.
Yes - shingles are allowed up to approximately half the dumpster's visible volume. The key concern is weight. Asphalt shingles are very heavy; half a dumpster of shingles can quickly exceed the included weight allowance of 2-3 tons. You remain responsible for overweight charges at $50 per ton. If your roofing job is large, it may be worth calling us to discuss the best approach.
Large appliances are accepted with special handling. Place refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, ovens, dishwashers, and water heaters beside the dumpster - never inside - and note that a $25-each fee applies. A/C and HVAC units are $25 per unit, also placed beside the dumpster for separate refrigerant handling. Donating working units or using a utility appliance-recycling program are also good options.
If prohibited items are discovered at the disposal facility, the facility may refuse the entire load or charge a significantly higher disposal rate. We will notify you and pass along any resulting costs - these can be substantial. In cases of hazardous material disposal violations, legal liability falls on the customer as the renter. We strongly advise calling us if you're unsure about any item.
Yes. Tires ($10 each), electronics ($10 each), large appliances ($25 each), and A/C and HVAC units ($25 each) must all be placed beside the dumpster - not inside. Auto/marine batteries and propane cylinders also go beside the dumpster, with no fee. Mattresses are the exception - they go inside the dumpster with the applicable fee. Placing these items in the dumpster without authorization will result in additional charges.
